As some have noticed, we are now changing the server for images etc. in Child Care, and there are some reasons for this.

Why switch?

One of the main reasons why we have chosen to change the system from Google to our own system so when we upload pictures of the children, we actually automatically transfer all picture rights to Google.

Is it a problem? Maybe not right now, but as many have probably heard and read about, artificial intelligence is very much up to date, and one thing we can fear is that pictures of the children will be used/abused. We have many thousands of photos on Google, and we do not know the future and do not know whether there may be consequences for the children or, for that matter, our organization, if these photos end up in the wrong hands.

So we're not making these changes to make it harder for sponsors (with apps and new logins), but simply to protect photos and data from abuse in the future.

Another advantage is that it makes our work in Uganda much easier. We have 2 good mobile phones that we use to take pictures with us, and when our social worker comes back to the office, the app uploads all the pictures to the server himself, after which he can easily share the pictures with the sponsors who need them. It saves us many hours of work,

What are the disadvantages?

For some, it can be annoying if you are used to a system to have to switch to something new, but we also believe that once you get used to it, it will probably work well and the systems are very similar to each other. We know that it can be difficult for some, but we hope for your understanding. We do it only for the sake of the children and to protect them in the future.

How to get to your photos

To access pictures and documents about your sponsor, you must first create a new password on our server

You do this by logging in here: http://quickconnect.to/childcareserver

Here you fill in the username and temporary password that you have received by mail from the server. The first time you log in, you will be asked to change your password.

From now on, the images will be "shared" with you, so find them under "Sharing" in the app

The images you have on Google will be transferred to the new system as soon as possible.
