Dear Sponsors, Supporters, and Friends

Back to School
All schools will reopen at the beginning of February after the holiday, so next week, we will be busy distributing school materials to the schools and children. Right now, the teachers are back to prepare before the school year begins. A couple of years ago, we hired a new school principal, which has significantly improved the students' performance. The school has now welcomed many new 1st and 2nd-grade students, which we are very proud of.

We have just received report cards for the sponsored children, so all sponsors will soon receive a small greeting from their sponsor child, along with a letter and their report card.

The webshop is open, and online gifts will be delivered starting next week while the schools are open. If you would like to treat your sponsor child or their family in Uganda, feel free to visit our webshop:

New Office for Accounting
Winnie, our accountant, is unable to move out to Emmanuel due to family commitments, so I have built a small office for her in Banda, where she has now moved in. Many tasks are handled online, which is a great advantage as it allows us to work efficiently from different locations.

Opening of the Clinic at Emmanuel
On Monday morning, we cut the ribbon for our new clinic at Emmanuel School. There are no other clinics in the area, so this will be a true blessing for the entire community. Several years ago, we had a mobile clinic run by Clinical Officer Kezia. After some years apart, Kezia is now back and will be running the clinic together with a nurse named Praise.

Moving UCC
About a week ago, we started moving our office in Masaka to Emmanuel School. For now, the office will share a building with the clinic that we opened on Monday. It is a bit emotional to move, as we have been based in Masaka for many years. However, times are changing, and we believe it is beneficial to have everything gathered in one place. Additionally, this move will save us a significant amount of money, as we no longer have to pay rent, security guards, electricity, internet, and water for two separate locations.

Staff Apartments for UCC Employees
Last year, I began laying the foundation and walls for five small apartments for our staff. Over the past few weeks, we have been working on the roof construction, installing the roof, as well as setting up electricity and plumbing. These small one-room apartments include a bathroom and a small kitchen. They will house our school principal, Simon Peter, UCC Manager Moses, social worker Walter, caretaker Boaz, and a guest/volunteer apartment.
If everything goes as planned, the apartments should be finished in about 2-3 months.

Many Children Need Sponsors
You can see and read about the children in need of sponsorship on our website:
Bliv fadder | ChildCare.dk

If you know someone who might be interested in becoming a sponsor, please refer them to our website, where many children are waiting for support. Our goal is to give children a future out of poverty, and we are committed to doing our best to help them in Uganda.

All sponsored children receive schooling, meals at school, and all necessary school materials for just 200 DKK per month, so please help us spread the good news. 🙂

Best regards,

Ruth & Carsten
